Some fields require the need to be repeated multiple times in a document. You can utilise loops to automate the process of repeating fields in an agreement. For instance, you could use a loop to generate a list of sellers in an NDA Buyout agreement, or to create multiple copies of a field with different values.
How does it work?
For creating loops, highlight the text on your draft you wish to repeat, and click the loops
icon shown in the image below.
This will enable a user answering the questionnaire to add on the details of multiple employees as depicted below. This is an efficient way to gather information, as the user only needs to complete creating the questionnaire once, rather than creating a separate form for each employee.
On adding a loop from the Automation tab, you can choose to name the loop and add a label to it in the sidebar.
Name: The name of the loop is a unique identifier which you can use to refer to the loop in your template.
Label: It is used to help end users navigate the questionnaire and understand the purpose of the loop. It is important to choose a clear and descriptive label for your loop, as this will help users understand the purpose of the loop and what information they should enter. A good label should be concise and easy to understand, so that users can quickly and conveniently complete the questionnaire.
Master loop: Selecting master loop becomes available once you have more than one loop in your template. Note: You can link multiple loops to one master loop.
In the questionnaire, the user has the option to then update two new items in relation to looped questions. More information about Master loop can be found here.
You can link loops together so that when you press the button to add another iteration to your loop in the questionnaire, it will also increase the amount of iterations for the separate loop in a different part of the questionnaire. There is a Loop controller toggle button in the questionnaire which is relevant when you have linked loops within your template.
You can find the words: Add another to Loop 1 below the loop controller which you can replace (Which will be default be “Add another to {Loop Name}”) with what you would like to display on the looped button in the questionnaire.
