Tick the relevant option(s) to allow users to add and/or edit Datasheet records from the questionnaire
Adding a new record
When the option Allow users to add records to Datasheets from the questionnaire is enabled, users generating a document from this template can add new records directly from a Datasheet-type question.
To add a new record:
Click the + button next to the Datasheet question
Enter the required details in the pop-up window
Select Create record
For instance, users may wish to add a new record of an item "Record 3" as the existing options provided in the Datasheet do not contain any record of this item. Click on the + button and users can add their desired record on the pop-up.
A pop-up will appear prompting the user to enter the details for the new record.
Once the relevant fields are completed, selecting Create record will add the new entry to the Datasheet and update the questionnaire. The newly created record will then be available for selection in the dropdown.
Editing an existing record
When Allow users to edit Datasheet records from the questionnaire is enabled, users can amend existing Datasheet records during document creation.
To edit a record:
Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the relevant value in the Datasheet dropdown
Update the required fields in the pop-up window
Select Save record
For instance, users may wish to amend Record 3 to Record 4. To do so, click on the โeditโ button next to the relevant value.
A pop-up box should appear, prompting the user to amend the existing record for the relevant Datasheet.
Amend the relevant information and press โSave recordโ. This will update the existing record in the relevant Datasheet and update your questionnaire. Users can then select the updated record from the updated values.
