Reviewing your curation

Find your way around the review screen and keep track of what’s left.

When your curation is ready, it opens in the review screen. This is where you read the precedent, compare the source documents and work through each change.

This article covers:

  • The review screen

  • Document view and Redline view

  • Viewing one paragraph’s redline

  • Edit mode and saving

  • Tracking your progress

1. The review screen

The review screen has three panels and a bar along the top.

💡 Tip: You can hide the Provisions list or the resolution panel to give the document more room, and show them again whenever you need them.

2. Document view and Redline view

Use the toggle above the document to switch between two views.

Redline

Every source document’s wording, each in its own colour and numbered.

Compare exactly how each document words a clause.

In Redline view, a legend above the document lists each source. Click the eye icon next to a source to show or hide its wording.

Turn on Show brackets, next to the Document and Redline toggle, to show square brackets around the wording that varies between your documents.

Redline view, with each source document’s wording in its own colour.

3. Viewing one paragraph’s redline

You can review in whichever view suits you. If you are working in Document view and only need to compare one paragraph, you can show the redline for just that paragraph, without switching the whole document to Redline view.

  1. Hover in the margin next to a paragraph that has changes.

  2. Click View redline. You’ll see each source document’s wording for that paragraph, while the rest of the document stays as it is.

  3. Click Hide redline to close it.

Hovering in the margin shows two icons: Resolve this paragraph (top) and View redline (bottom).

4. Edit mode and saving

When you open a curation, the document is locked so you can read it without changing anything by accident. Turn on Edit mode in the top bar to show the editing toolbar and edit the text directly.

Curate saves your work automatically a moment after each change. The top bar shows the save status, such as Saved v4 · 14:32 or Unsaved changes.

  • To save straight away, click Save.

  • Your progress is kept wherever you open the curation next, in any browser or on any computer.

The top bar, with the reviewed counter, Edit mode, save status, Save and Export.

5. Tracking your progress

  • The top bar counts how many changes you have reviewed, for example, 18 of 52 reviewed.

  • In the Provisions list, each provision is marked Done or Needs review. Use the Status filter to show only Unresolved or Resolved changes.

  • Once you resolve a change, it loses its highlighting and reads as normal text, so it’s easy to see what’s left. Placeholders and conditions keep their colour.

Resolved changes are ticked in the Provisions list and read as normal text in the document.

💡 Tip: If your source documents have a table of contents, you’ll see a Table of contents will go here marker in the review. Your exported document gets a fresh table of contents built from the precedent’s headings.
