The find and replace tool is used to search for any text in the template, and allows users to replace searched text for another text. In addition, users have the ability to mass generate placeholders, inline conditions or block conditions throughout the template by replacing searched text with automated ones. To access this functionality, simply use the magnifying glass tool highlighted in the image below.

Users can use this function to determine is/are, she/he, customer/customers etc., situations throughout the template without having to search the document line by line to automate these terms as shown below.

Here are the usage descriptions for each feature:

Words: This particular function is used when searching for entire words only. For instance, for looking for the word: "overtime" in the document, it has to be typed in entirely since only matched words can be searched for through this. The term would not get highlighted if the case does not match here, for example: "overtime".

Regex: Ticking the regex tickbox helps search for a pattern in text using regular expressions. It can also be used with the replace function to replace certain patterns in the document. For instance, if all your placeholders have certain conventions for naming these attributes or variables: attribute_name or MyAttribute, it will find all the attributes that follow that convention and replace them.

Match case: This function allows you to search case sensitive text only. For instance, if there are two terms: leave and Leave mentioned in the agreement, you can search for the former by typing the word in lowercase, and making the ‘L’ for the latter uppercase to search for ‘Leave’.

Autosearch: It is used to search for a text as soon as it begins to get typed in the ‘Search value’ box within the find and replace pop-up window.

Replace mode: Tick this box when required to replace matching text with new text. For using this function, first search for the word by typing it in the ‘Search value’ box which you wish to replace with new text. Then, tick the ‘Replace mode’ box, which will open a box within the find and replace pop-up window. Produce new text where it is suggested ‘Write here...’. Click the ‘Replace’ button below to replace a particular searched word with this newly produced text. If the same searched word is present in more than one in the document, click the ‘Replace all’ button to replace all the words to replace with new text, if needed.

Highlight all: Tick ‘Highlight all’ when you need to highlight the searched text for the total number of times mentioned in the document. For instance, if the word: date is present in the document, thrice, all three instances of this searched word would be highlighted at once.

In selection: This function helps for searching text within selected text only. For instance, if you highlight the clause of "probationary period" and then search for days, the word: days will be searched for within the selected text only, i.e., within the clause of probation period.
