MassDraft allows users to create and modify document templates efficiently. This article will walk you through editing templates within the platform, both online using the built-in editor and offline using Microsoft Word.

Online Editing in MassDraft

MassDraft provides an intuitive online template editor that allows you to make real-time edits. Follow these steps to edit your template online:

  1. Access the Templates Tab

    • Navigate to the "Templates" tab in MassDraft.

    • Click on the template you wish to edit.

  2. Editing Template Content

    • Click the Edit button to open the template.

    • Make necessary modifications directly in the editor.

  3. Automating Your Template

    • Use the Automation tab to insert placeholders, conditions and operations.

    • Add Docusign tags by clicking on "Insert Docusign tag" and specifying the tag type.

  4. Renaming the Template

    • Click on the pen icon next to the template name.

    • Enter the new name and save.

  5. Saving Your Changes

    • Once satisfied with your edits, click "Save" to apply the changes.

Offline Editing Using Microsoft Word

For users who prefer working in Microsoft Word, MassDraft allows you to edit templates offline and re-import them with automation intact.

  1. Downloading the Template for Offline Editing

    • In the Templates tab, click on the Download button.

    • Choose "Export .docx with automation" to ensure that automation features are preserved.

  2. Making Edits in Microsoft Word

    • Open the downloaded .docx file in Microsoft Word.

    • Make changes and modifications as needed.

  3. Uploading the Edited Template

    • Return to the MassDraft platform.

    • Click on the Upload button and select your edited .docx file to "Import .docx with automation"

  4. Review and Save

    • Verify that all automation elements are correctly imported.

    • Click "Save" to update the template.
