Export and re-import .docx without losing your automation or formatting
With our template round-tripping feature, you can download your automated templates as a .docx file, edit them offline in MS Word and upload them again into Avvoka without losing your automation or formatting.
First, navigate to your template of choice. Then, click the "download" button (down-facing arrow) on the top right-hand corner and select “export .docx with automation” to download your automated template as a .docx file.
For reference, a template in Avvoka that looks like the first image below will appear in the .docx file to look like the second image. As can be seen, the text will retain its colored containers in the form of square brackets.
You are now able to edit the word document as you see fit. Some of the things you can do include:
Change formatting (like styles, spacing, and numbering)
Update headers and footers.
Edit the language outside of the brackets.
Edit the language inside of the brackets.
Copy and paste placeholders to include them in other parts of your template.
Copy and paste the conditions square brackets in the word document to apply them to different areas of your template.
Once you are satisfied with the edited .docx, navigate back to the template editor and select the “upload” button (up-facing arrow). Then, select “Import .docx file with automation” and choose the .docx file you wish to upload. Once uploaded, your template will include the changes you have made while maintaining your automation.
