From the “My documents” page, users are able to e-sign the document by clicking “Accept and sign.” The system will prompt the user through the signing process and the counterparty will also be emailed to prompt them to proceed to e-signature (as seen below).

Note – you will only be able to execute a document using e-signatures if the template owner has enabled this feature and included a signed block/placeholder where relevant.

Two-Party documents

If a counter-party has been added to a document, they can only sign a document in its unlocked state. A document transfers from being unlocked to a locked state when a party 'takes control' of the document. A user could take control of a document by selecting the blue banner present at the top of the document. Taking control enables a party to edit the document, so this process means each party can review those changes before accepting the terms.

A document is unlocked after it is sent. For the receiving party, the "Accept and sign" button will be available for e-signature.
