NetDocuments Export Structure
Cabinet
A cabinet in NetDocuments is used for common access to an organized and managed document repository. In Avvoka the user will be shown all the cabinets of which he is a member. (Cabinet Top Level Folder Overview article)
Folders and workspaces
NetDocuments provides two ways to organize documents in a cabinet: Workspaces and Cabinet Folders. (Workspaces vs. Cabinet Folders article)
Cabinet Folders can be used to organize documents through a hierarchy (standard document folders)
Inside the Cabinet Folder, all the documents and subfolders are displayed located in it.
NetDocuments has the ability to provide shared "workspaces" that are based on a specific profile attribute which, for example, in a law firm, would be a Matter-centric view of documents.
*Profile attribute: Every document has a profile associated with it that includes attributes further describing or identifying the document. These Profile Attributes are used for effective document management and for added searching capability. (Profile Attributes Definition article)
Inside the workspace all relevant folders are displayed. Despite the fact that documents located not in folders are not displayed in workspaces in Avvoka, the user still has the option to save the document directly to the workspace.
Filter for the cabinet
The filter represents the profile attributes available for lookup in NetDocuments.
After selecting a filter, you will be prompted to select a value for this filter from the drop-down list
Semi-transparent filters are child attributes and become available only after specifying the parent attribute in the filter
Filters are applied to all folders and workspaces in the cabinet
