AI DraftAssist

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Avvoka DraftAssist is an AI-powered feature that extracts information from a source document (e.g., Term Sheet, deal memo) or even unstructured text (like an email). This extracted information populates the relevant questionnaire fields in a legal document, streamlining the document drafting process.

This article walks you through how to use DraftAssist effectively.

How to Use Avvoka DraftAssist

Step 1: Upload Your Source Document or Text

  • Go to the Create tab in Avvoka.

  • Select the checkbox for the template you want to use.

  • Click the DraftAssist AI button at the top of your screen.

You'll see two options:

  • Create documents from .DOCX file

  • Paste in source text

Optional: Toggle Force DraftAssist to have the AI attempt to return a response for every question. (Note: This may compromise accuracy.)

DraftAssist will identify the questionnaire fields required for this document.

Step 2: AI-Powered Autofill

Once you upload your source document or type in/paste text:

  • AI will extract relevant data and map it to the corresponding questionnaire fields.

  • A preview of the populated questionnaire appears, with each questionnaire item showing:

    • Suggested answer

    • Analysis

Step 3: Review & Edit Responses

  • Review the auto-filled questionnaire fields.

  • Click the AI icon next to a field to:

    • Response: View the AI-suggested answer and its rationale.

    • Context: See the exact part of the source document the answer came from (click "Show" to view the Source document context and exactly what part was used to answer the question).

You can manually edit any AI-generated response if needed. For unanswered fields, manually enter the information.

Note: Enabling Force DraftAssist lets AI fill in the gaps using contextual understanding.

Step 4: Generate the Final Document

  • Once you're satisfied with the questionnaire responses, click Done to generate the document.

  • Avvoka compiles the data into a complete document.

You can then:

  • Download the document

  • Proceed with further workflows (negotiation, approvals, e-signing, etc.)

Additional Features & Accuracy

High Precision: DraftAssist achieves 98–100% accuracy in key data points like:

  • Lender/Borrower details

  • Registered addresses

  • Agreement date

  • Loan amount

Best Practices

  • Use structured documents (e.g., Term Sheets) for best results.

  • Always review extracted data before generating the final document.
