Avvoka DraftAssist is an AI-powered feature that extracts information from a source document (e.g., Term Sheet, deal memo) or even unstructured text (like an email). This extracted information populates the relevant questionnaire fields in a legal document, streamlining the document drafting process.
This article walks you through how to use DraftAssist effectively.
How to Use Avvoka DraftAssist
Step 1: Upload Your Source Document or Text
Go to the Create tab in Avvoka.
Select the checkbox for the template you want to use.
Click the DraftAssist AI button at the top of your screen.
You'll see two options:
Create documents from .DOCX file
Paste in source text
Optional: Toggle Force DraftAssist to have the AI attempt to return a response for every question. (Note: This may compromise accuracy.)
DraftAssist will identify the questionnaire fields required for this document.
Step 2: AI-Powered Autofill
Once you upload your source document or type in/paste text:
AI will extract relevant data and map it to the corresponding questionnaire fields.
A preview of the populated questionnaire appears, with each questionnaire item showing:

Step 3: Review & Edit Responses
Review the auto-filled questionnaire fields.
Click the AI icon next to a field to:
You can manually edit any AI-generated response if needed. For unanswered fields, manually enter the information.
Note: Enabling Force DraftAssist lets AI fill in the gaps using contextual understanding.
Step 4: Generate the Final Document
Once you're satisfied with the questionnaire responses, click Done to generate the document.
Avvoka compiles the data into a complete document.
You can then:
Download the document
Proceed with further workflows (negotiation, approvals, e-signing, etc.)
